Now that Thanksgiving is marching closer here in the States, retailers around the country are already running some pretty sweet Black Friday deals and sales that are worth skimming if you’re shopping for gifts for others (or yourself!).
Here at Tom’s Guide, I cover PCs for a living, and that includes regularly reviewing monitors of all sizes and stripes. So I’ve been keeping an eye on monitor prices for years, and right now I’m already seeing some pretty sizable discounts on great displays.
For example, this 27″ Alienware OLED gaming monitor is $549, which is nearly half off the usual $999 price tag. If you’d like something a bit cheaper, this 32″ Dell 4K monitor for $279 is great because it’s a big, fast 4K panel with HDR support. But if you just need a decent display for not much cash, I recommend this 24″ Dell 1080p monitor for $119 because it’s bright, adjustable and comes with built-in speakers.
Monitors
Spectre 24" Curved 1080p
I love the fact that this cheap 1080p curved monitor has built-in speakers, because it’s just nice to have that option without having to buy separate speakers. The curve may help you feel more immersed in your work, and the incredibly low price makes this a great budget monitor to quickly put a display on your latest PC build.
Acer 27" 1080p
This is a slightly better 27-inch 1080p monitor from Acer with a faster 120Hz refresh rate. However, it has just an HDMI 1.4 port and a VGA port, no DisplayPort, so always make sure your PC has a compatible port before you buy.
Dell 24" S2425HS 1080p
This cheap 24″ 1080p monitor gives you two built-in 5W speakers, and it’s a fantastic pick for a simple second monitor or to get work done on. It even comes with a 100Hz refresh rate. Not bad for $119, and it makes for an affordable display for work or even for kids.
Dell 27" QHD Monitor
This one’s a heavy hitter for its price, and it’s considered great for work, photo and video edits, and even some light gaming. That’s due to the Dell S3225QS offers a bright 4K display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Dell 32" S3225QS 4K
Any fans of the original games will get a kick (flip) out of this early Black Friday deal, as you can save $20 off thanks to Amazon right now. Not only are you getting two games for just $29.89, but this is a record-low price, too.
Samsung 32" UJ59 4K
This is a nice productivity monitor that can game in a pinch, as the 32-inch IPS display is capable of achieving 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) at a refresh rate of 60Hz. And since it supports AMD FreeSync, you can count on some smooth entry-level gaming performance.
Samsung 34" ViewFinity S50GC
For more of an ultra-wide view, grab this 34-inch Samsung ViewFinity S50GC with an ultra-WQHD (3440 x 1440) display. It comes with a 100Hz refresh rate, 5ms response time and a borderless design that makes for a better-looking display on your desk. This one’s great for productivity, and at this price, it’s hard to go wrong.
Gaming monitors
Gigabyte 24.5" GS25F2 (1080p/200Hz)
This is a great budget 1080p gaming monitor that’s a steal at this price, and you can expect other reliable features like AMD FreeSync Premium, HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 support, a 1ms response rate and HDR10 for good measure.
Acer 23.8" Nitro (1080p/165Hz)
If you need to save cash on a new display, you could do a lot worse than this Acer gaming monitor. The fact that this 1080p display (1920 x 1080) has a 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time and AMD FreeSync Premium support is impressive at this price.
