Fun fact: I’ve been getting blowouts religiously since I was 13 years old. You see, I have extremely thick, curly hair, and I’ve never fully felt myself showing off my texture. Sure, I wear it curly here and there, but straight strands are still what I prefer most.

Drybar The Triple Shot Interchangeable Blow-Dryer Brush
Prior to the Covid years, I was getting my hair done professionally at a salon once a week, but when life as we know it changed, I resorted to teaching myself how to get the job with various hair tools. It’s been a lot of trial and error over the last four and a half years, going back and forth between several different multi-stylers, but I’ve finally found on a system that can actually achieve that salon-quality blowout I always covet: Drybar’s Triple Shot Interchangeable Blow-Dryer Brush.
When the multi-styler landed on my desk earlier this fall, I knew just by the look of the package that this was going to be a good one simply because it came with not one, but two different sized round blow-dryer brushes. I have both the Dyson Airwrap and Skark FlexStyle, and while I love each for different reasons, a big pain point for me has always been the fact that neither have different sized round brushes. Bigger brushes just can’t grip the tight curls at the top of my head and around my face, which often results me having to go over those areas with a flat iron—an extra step I detest. The smaller round brush has been a complete godsend for me for this very reason because it can grip onto those hard-to-reach spots and straighten them seamlessly.
It’s also worth noting that both of these brushes are designed to achieve different looks: the smaller creates defined waves and curls, while the oval-shaped one creates a shiny, voluminous look. The multi-styler also comes with a flat paddle brush for a more smooth and straight finish, but I usually stick to the round brushes because I love the look of a va-va-voom blowout.
Another reason I love the Triple Shot is because it’s ridiculously easy to use. It’s not too heavy, so it never strains my arms, and it gets the job done in about 20 minutes flat. A total breeze, if you ask me. The whole system comes housed in a heat-resistant toiletry-style bag, which I appreciate because it’s compact and doesn’t take too much room in my bathroom cabinets or if I’m packing to go away.
Like the Dyson and Shark, there are some aspects about the Drybar version I don’t care for, like the location of where the settings are placed on the tool, but that’s honestly small potatoes because of how well the system works on my hair. All in all, consider me impressed. If you catch me walking around with good hair, you know why.
