Teddy and Chuck reunite and ascend the cliffs toward the lighthouse, but they become separated. Cawley and his assistant, Dr. Naehring, she claims, will use Teddy’s war trauma to fake a psychotic break, enabling them to commit him. Cawley greets Teddy when he returns to the infirmary. Also, you will find out which character are you in this Shutter Island quiz.

About the quiz

Teddy, convinced that Chuck was taken to the lighthouse, heads there but encounters Naehring, who tries to sedate him. Teddy overcomes him and enters the lighthouse, only to find Cawley waiting for him. Teddy approaches Cawley and tells him about his encounter with Solando, claiming that Cawley is experimenting on him. Cawley disputes the existence of Solando and maintains that Teddy was not drugged, explaining the tremors as withdrawal symptoms from Chlorpromazine, an anti-psychotic medication Teddy has been taking for two years. Chuck arrives and shows himself to be Dr. Sheehan. Cawley reveals that “Teddy” is the real Andrew Laeddis, who is serving time in prison for murdering his manic depressive wife after she drowned their three children. When Dolores burned down their apartment, Andrew did not seek assistance for her, instead moving his family to a lake house, where tragedy struck. Cawley explains that Andrew’s delusion is caused by his guilt, that his migraines and hallucinations are withdrawal symptoms, and that recent events have been an intricate role play intended to cure him. Andrew passes out from exhaustion as a result of his unexpected return. Also, you must try to play this Shutter Island quiz. When Andrew awakens, he calmly relates the truth, which pleases the doctors. Cawley observes that they had reached this state nine months prior, but Andrew soon regressed. He warns Andrew that this is his last opportunity and that if he fails again, he will be lobotomized. Andrew later unwinds on the hospital premises with Sheehan. Andrew, who appears delusional, refers to Sheehan as “Chuck” once more and declares that they must flee the island. Sheehan alerts Cawley, who orders Andrew’s lobotomy. Andrew then questions Sheehan whether it is better to “live as a monster or die as a good man?” Sheehan, stunned, calls Andrew “Teddy,” but the latter does not react and walks away peacefully with the orderlies.
