Personality assessments

Some online quizzes concentrate on your personal traits. They therefore assess your ability to understand and respond to commonplace situations based on who you are.

Are You Any Sense at All? the test’s conclusion

You are about to respond to 15 questions about common sense and personality. By the end of the exam, you will have determined whether you are a person who uses common sense or not. The outcomes also reveal how your identity is formed by your judgment.

Here’s an illustration. You have two judges, one of whom is Muslim and the other is Christine, who sit in two different nations. You request that they look into the DUI arrest of an 18-year-old girl (aka drunk driving).

Drinking and driving while intoxicated are two offenses that the Muslim judge will find in this case. This is due to the widespread conviction that drinking alcohol is a crime in the majority of Muslim countries.

The Christine judge, however, will only consider one charge, which is DUI.

Four reasons why you should take the Common Sense Test

A common sense test is not necessary. It is true that. It may, however, offer fascinating insight into your worldview. The four reasons why you require this quiz are listed below.

It demonstrates your dependability.

People with common sense are seen to be better at handling problems that arise on a daily basis. This makes them trustworthy. This is evaluated by the test on this page. It reveals your potential problem-solving skills.

It demonstrates your level of superstitious belief.

Do you think ghosts exist? Do you believe in the existence of an afterlife? Demons, what about them? Do you believe they are real? Let’s say the majority of people in society have irrational beliefs. If so, there is a greater likelihood that the subsequent generations of that particular civilization will have the same belief—regardless of how absurd it may be.

By taking the practice test on this page, you can assess that. The questions are intended to find out if you have any superstitions that may have come from your upbringing.

It reveals whether your community adores you.

Higher common sense quotients are probably more frequent in society. This is so because their beliefs are more in line with those of the majority of people. And people tend to favor individuals who are similar to them.

Our common sense test indicates whether or not your commonsensical personality makes you popular or well-liked in your neighborhood.

It evaluates your capacity for problem-solving.

You can solve problems better if you use good judgment. People often assume that stronger horse sense comes naturally to convergent thinkers. This is why the common sense test also assesses your capacity for problem-solving.

Being a Common Sense-Oriented Person Has a Problem

According to Duncan Watts in a 2011 TED Talk, “Common sense is what we rely on to manage concrete everyday events.” He thinks that in order to deal with daily challenges, people need to understand this idea. However, Duncan also thinks that relying on it excessively could negatively impact your judgment.

The issue is that we apply common sense to everyday situations that are not solid. We follow that miss’s lead. We generalize stories so that we can base predictions on them, claims Duncan. While it’s important to learn from our past mistakes, generalizing too much from them might be detrimental.

So, lacking flexible thinking is an issue for someone who is primarily concerned with common sense.

“Post hoc explanations only tell us what happened,” adds Duncan. They never explain what occurred. You shouldn’t rely on them solely because of this.

What Can I Expect to Happen on the Common Sense Test?

You are aware of what common sense is, but you do not always use it to solve problems. The ideal outcome from a test like that is that. It implies that you are capable of making defensible decisions about the shared views in your society. You do not, however, utilize them as a manual for your entire existence. Such a strategy ultimately strengthens and increases your dependability when it comes to problem-solving.

What Makes Other Online Tests Bad?

Most common sense tests have correct or incorrect responses. As a result, they are more like a game than a true personality test. These exams may ask difficult questions with the statement “only persons with great common sense can answer this.”

That, however, is not the best course of action. On the basis of brainteasers and riddles, you cannot assess sound judgment.

What You Should Know Before Taking the Exam

Like many subjects that are similar, this one is the subject of a great deal of myths. So, the following are the key considerations before taking the common sense test.

It is not a list of regulations.

Rationality and sound judgment are influenced by a variety of internal and external circumstances. In one society, showing respect could be seen as another form of disrespect. Your family’s morals may differ from those of your community. And when it comes to common sense, there isn’t a specific book of guidelines you may consult.

There is no right response.

During the common sense test, you are not required to seek out the correct response. Simply choose the choice that makes the most sense.

It is distinct from EQ.

The common sense test is compared to an Emotional Intelligence Test by some. However, that is incorrect. EQ is the capacity to comprehend, control, and profit from your own and other people’s emotions. In contrast, common sense is the fundamental information and logic you require to handle day-to-day problems.

Examples from Common Sense to Help You Understand It

“Does the Fourth of July exist in Britain?” for example, “Which month has 28 days?” You might encounter questions of this nature when taking an online test. They do not, however, represent common sense in a good way. Two scenarios that better clarify the subject are provided below.

There are four other people in the elevator with you. “Hold it for me!” he yells as he races toward you carrying a black luggage. And you carry it out. He is currently riding with you in the elevator. However, he is now confronting you and other people. He is standing right in front of you and smiling oddly. Due to the awkwardness of the circumstance, you are unsure of how to respond.

That is an illustration of common sense in our society, I suppose. You find it strange to turn to face other people in an elevator. But can you provide a specific justification for that? Only because you “think” it is not appropriate.

You’re attending a concert with your friends. But in the midst of the throng, you notice an elderly woman in a black suit and a brown luggage standing motionless. She is observing the performers as if she were some sort of spy. It strikes you and your buddies as odd. You must agree that her outfit does not fit the surroundings.

But consider it once more. Why do you believe it’s inappropriate to wear such a dress to a concert? Did your education impart that knowledge to you? Have you read any books on choosing the appropriate attire for concerts? Or do you and most of the people you know obey it more like an unspoken rule?

That is a good use of common sense, I suppose. Without any specific justification, you can sense when something is right or wrong. And it’s a truth that those close to you (or in your community) adhere to the same unwritten standards as you.
