“The Dark Knight Rises” moves away from the fantastical beginnings of the superhero genre and into a doom-shrouded, apocalyptic future that uneasily resembles the news of today. Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) reluctantly emerges from years of seclusion in Wayne Manor and confronts a soulless villain who is as powerful as he is as urban terrorism and class conflict envelope Gotham and its infrastructure is torn apart. The movie starts out slowly with an unclear storyline and too many new characters, but it eventually builds to an exciting conclusion. The end of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy is an ambitious superhero film with two surprises: It’s not very entertaining, and there isn’t a lot of Batman. I’m thinking of the outrageous action scenes from the earlier movies, which often had a humorous undercurrent, and Heath Ledger’s electrifying portrayal of the Joker. With a villain called Bane whose Hannibal Lecter-esque face-muzzle saps him of personality, this movie is all serious drama. And while Bruce Wayne appears frequently, his alter ego Batman only makes a few fleeting cameos prior to the major climax.

It’s difficult to determine what drives Bane, who is portrayed by Tom Hardy in a performance reminiscent of a homicidal professional wrestler, making him an enigma. In a situation reminiscent of the storming of the Bastille, he releases thousands of Gotham’s criminals. Bane’s objective appears to be the overthrow of the ruling classes as they engage in street combat with the majority of the municipal police force. However, if his other plan—the nuclear destruction of the city—is successful, this would show to be of little use. But you shouldn’t waste any more time and start this The Dark Knight Rises quiz. Bane creates two additional shocking set pieces that appear to be directed at our society’s dual idols of money and professional sports, the Stock Exchange destruction and the stadium explosion. When it comes down to Bane and Batman facing off against each other in a street fight, there is no effort made to account for Bane’s finances or resources, and the fistfight that ensues is uninteresting. He destroys the city’s bridges, and to cap it off, he hits Batman in the jaw with a right hook.

Despite having the least amount of charisma among the Batman antagonists, Bane gets nearly as much screen time as Bruce Wayne and Batman. The movie also features two potential love interests for Wayne, a brave young police officer (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), and plenty of screen time for series regulars like Alfred the Butler (Michael Caine, who is remarkably effective in several intense scenes), Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman), and the brilliant inventor Lucius Fox. (Morgan Freeman). Also, you will find out which character are you in this The Dark Knight Rises quiz. Two women are present: Miranda Tate (Marion Cotillard), a billionaire who might be able to save Wayne Enterprises after Bane’s stock market mischief causes Wayne to lose all of his money, and the perpetually mysterious Catwoman (Anne Hathaway). Catwoman, a professional burglar who always puts herself first, and Miranda, a selfless environmentalist, are both irresistibly attracted to Bruce, who is not only still single but has also spent the last eight years isolating himself in Wayne Manor with the devoted Alfred.

About the quiz

Honestly, there were times in the first half of the movie when I was unsure of who was doing what and with whom and to whom because of all of these people and their interactions. Although not everyone will be able to exactly explain the deep stone well where Bane imprisons Bruce Wayne, the film settles in for its sensational second half. Anyone can attempt to scale the circular walls of this well to achieve freedom, but only a select few are successful. In “Baraka,” we catch a glimpse of some zigzagging steps that are actually located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India. Bane was apparently imprisoned there as a kid. Also, you must try to play this The Dark Knight Rises quiz. This movie challenges the limits of what a superhero movie can handle in terms of darkness and weight. It’s impressive how Nolan manages to bring together civil unrest, widespread devastation, and a Batcycle with exercise-ball tires. It’s impressive that he does it without using 3D. It can claim that enormous screen as its own because a large portion of it was filmed in the 70mm IMAX format. It’s unavoidable that it will wrap up the trilogy; how much further can Nolan go? It misses “The Dark Knight’s” (2008) level of near-perfection, requires more clarity, and could use a stronger antagonist, but it’s still a respectable conclusion.
