The Proto-Germanic neuter term *trullan gave rise to the Old Norse nouns troll and trll, which can mean “fiend, demon, werewolf, or jötunn,” as well as the Middle High German words troll and trolle, which mean “fiend” and were “likely borrowed from Old Norse,” according to philologist Vladimir Orel. The Proto-Germanic word’s etymology is unclear.[1] Additionally, the Proto-Germanic verb *trulljanan, a derivative of *trullan, gave rise to the Old Norse verb trylla, meaning “to enchant, to become a troll,” and the Middle High German word trüllen, meaning “to flutter.”[1]For more personality quizzes check this: Left Behind Rise Of The Antichrist Quiz.
