I’m not afraid to admit that Trailer Park Boys is one of my most popular shows ever. I can’t count how many times I saw Sunnyvale and its colorful inhabitants of the Canadian mockumentary series (the original run and not the abomination that is the Netflix revival). Not only have Ricky, Julian, and Bubbles given me a few of the best bawdy comedy episodes of all time, but they have also provided some of my favorite memories.
There was a moment at school when you couldn’t go home with anyone without a random episode of Trailer Park Boys on a computer, a TV, or at times a telephone. So I made a list of my favorite episodes with visits from some of the best people, events, and a bunch of Jim Lahey’s (RIP John F. Dunsworth) who fell drunk with a black-out to remember those friends and memories.
Which Trailer Park Boy character are you?
Season 7 episode ‘Friends of the Road’ is all about Trailer Park Boys touchstones. Centered around Bubbles and Ray crossing the Canada-US border, the pair gets out of hand when Ray gets jailed to ask for prostitution once he gets to Maine and sells scrap metal to a model railway conference. This may even begin the epic meltdown of Bubbles, with his old puppet “Conky” and the arrival of Sebastian Bach’s heavy metal vocalist and the legendary Swayzie Express model train constellation (not to be confused with the late Patrick Swayze). Watching Bubbles try to stop Ray from getting older, well, Ray is not getting older. Nor does Sebastian Bach talk with a small child about model trains, who is tremendously excited.
In the universe of Trailer Park Boys, Ricky’s mom is a cause of confusion. We hear her raised many times, although we know about her nearly nothing. Any love they share clearly gave him an indelible impression. About Christmas 1997, Tammy departed Sunnyvale. Even Julian paints her in less than favorable light, despite her previous husband and her son defending her name. In the past, Ricky’s mother has some references as if it wasn’t among the living any longer. Subsequent allusions to today imply that she’s alive and just left the park. Whatever way, we still don’t exactly know Ricky’s mom’s what happened. Also, you will find out which Trailer Park Boy character are you in this quiz.
Jim Lahey is a Canadian national trust. There is no doubt about it. The actor who represented the troublesome alcoholic was a nice man who lived the whole world producing beautiful granite statues. John Dunsworth died of a short, unexpected disease in 2017. The loss of a beloved husband, dad, and grandfather devastated his family.
About the quiz
The world lamented a dear comedian’s loss. There was a problem between the authors and producers of Trailer Park Boys. Without Lahey, the show could barely be the same but John wasn’t there anymore. With an odd but heartfelt tribute to the late actor, the animated series continues its journey. Mr. Lahey dies, but Randy’s former lover still advises his spirit.
The fundamental idea of the mockumentary genre is simple: After a fortune teller tells Julian that he will soon die, he decides to hire a documentary team to film his daily life and then serve to warn any person who considers drinking, drugs, and crime in a similar way. During the 2001-2007 show on Canadian TV, most of the lads’ everyday difficulties involved getting away with small crimes, drunk driving, and their evolvement in pot and hash without being caught by alcoholic trailer park administrator Jim Lahey (played by Canadian thespian John Dunsworth).
A changing cast of sleek neighbors like Sunnyvale, such as White rapper J-Roc Jonathan Torrens and a young Ellen Page like Lahey’s daughter and Ricky’s former acquaintance Treena, are encouraged by them. It’s boisterous, full of F-bombs, and pushes the white trashiness of the Canadian style to the extreme.
