Vikings’ overall story is mostly that of Ragnar Lothbrok and his sons who are partially mythical. Ragnar started the program as a poor farmer dreaming of sailing beyond Scandinavia, leading him into the Lindisfarne monastery, and later into war with the kingdoms of England, making him a royal and legendary route in the Viking world.
The narrative of Ragnar came to an end after Season 4, which saw Ragnar fall prey to Northern Umbria’s ever-populist snakes’ pit. Nearly every old guard is gone, too. Rollo, the brother, and competitor of Ragnar has long since disappeared in France and the famed Lagertha shield maids have been killed in season 6, part 1. Floki is gone. Last seen in season 5 within an erupting volcano. And he originally offered Ragnar the tools of navigation to Britain.
The four remaining sons — Bjorn Ironside, Ivar the Boneless, Ubbe, and Hvitserk – now take charge and are not happy families.
It is based on the achievements made by the mythic Viking chef Ragnar Lothbrok and his crew and family, in particular Ragnar’s sagas Loðbrókar and Ragnarssona Šáttr in the 13th century, and in Gesta Danorum in Saxo Grammaticus in the 12th century.

Then, this leads to the death of Torstein and forces Floki to doubt Ragnar’s prior rightist. Why Ragnar wanted his troops to battle to die for Christians. Later Floki’s hate for Christianity forces him to assassinate Ragnar’s new BFF – Athelstan. A heathen sympathizer of the Northumbrian monk. After which the latter reasserts his Christian faith.

In Scandinavia, Kalf took Lagertha’s (Katheryn Winnick) earldom in Hedeby and Siggy drowned and left Rollo in the heart while the boy [Katheryn Winnick] gave birth to her and to Bjorn’s, naming her in the name of Siggy. The last half of Season 3 of the Vikings concentrates on the Ragnar raid. Which goes to Paris which has failed and left the Viking king seriously injured. After the Franks have tried to negotiate Ragnar, promising him wealth and silver, he is refusing to be baptized and buried within the town gates, apparently turning his back on his North faith, and feeling he is near to death.
In the final season 3 “The Dead,” Ragnar looks to have died to his battle wounds as his casket conducts a funeral procession within the gates of the city of Paris. It soon happens that Ragnar bursts out of his sarcophagus alive, allowing his other Vikings to raid the city, pulled the ultimate bait. Ragnar’s brother Rollo is residing in France for the third season of the Vikings when Ragnar sails home to Kattegat and tells Floki that he knows that he killed Athelstane.
