On 6 April 1917, aerial reconnaissance revealed that the Imperial German Army, which had withdrawn from a sector of the Western Front in northern France, had made a strategic withdrawal to the new Hindenburg Line, where they hoped to overwhelm the British with artillery. In the British trenches, with field telephone lines cut, General Erinmore orders two young British lance corporals, William Schofield, a Somme veteran, and Tom Blake, to deliver a message to Colonel Mackenzie of the 2nd Battalion of the Devonshire Regiment, canceling a planned attack the next morning that would endanger the lives of 1,600 men, including Blake’s brother Joseph, a lieutenant.

Schofield and Blake traverse no man’s land to reach the abandoned German trenches, but Schofield suffers an injury to his left hand in the process. They find a tripwire set by the Germans in an underground barracks, which is immediately triggered by a rat; the explosion nearly kills Schofield, but Blake saves him and the two escape. When they arrive at an abandoned farmstead, a German plane is shot down in a dogfight with Allied planes. Schofield and Blake pull the burnt pilot from the wreckage. Blake convinces Schofield to get some water for the captain. When Schofield is not looking, the pilot stabs Blake. Schofield kills the pilot and consoles Blake as he dies, pledging to finish the mission and write to Blake’s mother. He is picked up by a passing British squad while carrying Blake’s rings and dog tag, as well as Erinmore’s letter. But you shouldn’t waste any more time and start this 1917 quiz.

He wakes at night and makes his way through the town’s flare-lit ruins. He finds a French lady hiding with an infant after evading a German soldier. He feeds her his canned food and farm milk while she treats his wounds. Schofield departs despite her pleas, after hearing the chimes of a nearby clock and realizing that time is running out. When he encounters German troops, he strangles one and flees by jumping into a river. While the cherry blossoms descend, the river carries him. Before reaching the riverbed, he is swept over a waterfall. He comes across D Company of the 2nd Devons in the forest, which is in the final wave of the assault. Schofield attempts to contact Colonel Mackenzie as the company moves closer to the front. Also, you will find out which character are you in this 1917 quiz.

About the quiz

Schofield runs “over the top” and sprints on the open battlefield parallel to the British trench line, realizing that the trenches are too crowded for him to reach Mackenzie in time. He pushes his way into the room to meet Mackenzie, who reads the message and reluctantly cancels the assault. Schofield searches for Blake’s sibling, who was in the first wave and is bloodied but unharmed. Schofield tells Joseph about his assignment and Tom’s death, passing along Tom’s rings and dog tag. Joseph is devastated by his brother’s death, but he thanks Schofield for his attempts. Schofield requests approval to write to their mother about Tom’s bravery, and Joseph agrees. Schofield rests exhausted under a nearby tree, looking at photos of his family; on the back of one of them is the message Please return to us.Also, you must try to play this 1917 quiz.
