This film tells the story of four kids evacuated from London during the bombs of World War II. They are sent to remain with a teacher until they are safe to come back home. Lucy finds a wardrobe in another vacant room while playing hide and search. It’s a perfect hiding place, of course, so she goes inside just to locate Narnia’s hidden realm.
She encounters a nice faun in the forest, inviting Lucy to tea at his house. Eventually, the youngsters grow adults and reign over Narnia for many years. One day they reach the lamp-post that marked the border between Narnia and our world to look for a magical white stag. The Pevensies crash back into our world from the closet. No time passed, and they were returning as youngsters to Professor Kirke’s residence. Professor Kirke informs the foursome about their journey, and he assures them that they will come back someday to Narnia again.
