As Jackman sings the tumbling lyrics, “It’s all you ever want, all you ever need is here and right outside of you, this is where you want to be,” he suddenly fades into a young Barnum and the film goes into a large flashback in which we learn that Phineas has grown up as the seducing, lonely son of an impoverished New York City tailor, who has been treated like crap and shit. The two children enter an overgrown, abandoned manor house to sing the song “A Million Dreams.” As with a majority of songs by Pesek and Paul, this song has a useful, sometimes beautiful melody, almost impossible to listen to because of dim lyrics that make its embarrassing design and reading level felt by the fifth grader.

Annnnnnnnnd is suddenly adults in the middle of the song. Michelle Williams now has another character to play, in which the wife, despite all the toxic nonsense of her husband, remain faithful and supportive.

The strangest part of the film is its music—funny, it’s fleeting, and mixed with a lot of vigorous dance. But the numbers of songs and dance are not especially fancy either; most songs sound precisely the same, just with various words, and Gracey seldom uses his unique character cast (a giant, a minivan, a bare lady, and a hairy man) or puts a circus in a smart way. The film scratches with enough taste that it’s easy to connect into its mentality. A very tranquil sequence. Like one with Carlyle and a lovely trapeze performer (Zendaya), who love each other while waving in a rope. Hits all the sweets of a romantic song-and-dance moment for all caffeinated musical numbers.

Before Barnum rescues him, he sustains grievous injuries. Barnum finds that the guilty ones were taken and that following her Lind and Barnum’s ‘scandal’ canceled her tour.

Barnum retreats to a tavern, devastated by his destruction. His troop found him there and said that they still consider themselves a family, despite their disappointments. Inspired, he decides not to let ambition govern him (“From Now On”) and to create a new show. With Anne by his side, Phillip wakes up at the hospital, while Barnum and Charity meet.

A rehabilitation In return for being an all-in-one partner, Phillip provides his cut in revenues to assist Barnum to restore the circus. Barnum makes the company an open-air tent circus to economize. The refurbished circuit is a major achievement and Barnum has daily operations supervised by Phillip to spend more time on his family. Barnum leaves the cycle early and comes to the ballet recital of Caroline and Helen riding an elephant. (“The greatest show”). (The greatest show).
