The MLB Hall of Fame honors the outstanding players who have played the game over the years. If you’re a true baseball enthusiast, you undoubtedly know that Cooperstown, New York is home to the hall of fame museum. The club also organizes various events and publishes a bimonthly journal called Memories and Dreams.

However, the players inducted into their class of 2022 hall of fame are who we are most interested in. The MLB Hall of Fame class of 2022 consists of the following seven individuals:

  • Bud Fowler: Due to the historical discrimination of African American baseball players at the time, Fowler was a barnstorming player.
  • First baseman Gil Hodges one of the most successful players and managers in the baseball league during his 27 seasons
  • pitcher Jim Kaat The left-handed athlete has been playing for forty years and has broken numerous records throughout his professional career.
  • Infielder Minnie Minoso The star for the Chicago White Sox was the first baseball player from Latin America to achieve superstardom. For many Major League Baseball players and spectators, Minoso has served as a significant source of inspiration.
  • Right fielder Tony Oliva The player who was originally from Cuba was a league-leading hitter. One of his distinguishing features among the audience was his golf-like swings.
  • Buck O’Neil: manager As a player, coach, scout, and executive, Buck devoted his whole life to baseball. He was an example of inspiration to the whole public, particularly the Kansas City Monarchs.
  • The designated hitter is David Ortiz. The Red Sox legend was solely responsible for many of the championships they won. He is among the greatest designated hitters in the annals of the game.

After you respond to the Major League Baseball Quiz, we’ll show you the superstar’s best moments.

Toby Fowler

Congratulation! You resemble the great player and manager Bud Fowler. John W. Jackson, a.k.a. Bud Fowler, was born in March 1858. When John was a little boy, his father, a barber, relocated to Cooperstown.

When Bod Fowler was in his teens, he earned his moniker by referring to other players as “bud” while they were playing. When he relocated to Keokuk, Iowa, he quickly rose to the position of star player for the team’s newly formed professional affiliate, the Keokuk Hawkeyes.

He was the first baseball player of African American descent to play for several seasons. Both as a player and a coach, he was a trailblazing figure. He unfortunately died in abject poverty.

Gil Hodges

Fantastic! You remind me of Gil Hodges. He was born in Princeton, Indiana, in April 1924. In the MLB, Gilbert Ray Hodge excelled as a first baseman and manager. From 1960 through 1963, he held the record for the most home runs hit in a career.

His career peaked in Brooklyn, particularly when he helped the team defeat the Yankees in the 1949 World Series. He was selected as an All-Star eight times between 1949 and 1955. From 1962 to 1963, he also played for the New York Mets.

He later took over as manager of the Washington Senators until 1968. He then proceeded to see the New York Mets. Gil was unquestionably one of the top MLB players in the 1950s.

Kaat, Jim

Congratulations! Jim Kaat, a three-time All-Star pitcher, is who you are. His birth occurred in November 1938. The left-handed player has experience with the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago White Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, Washington Senators, and Minnesota Twins.

He won the World Series title in 1982. Throughout his career, he won 16 Gold Glove Awards as well. Kaat was honored for being a member of the Minnesota Twins Hall of Fame. Kaat has written a best-seller titled Still Pitching and is also an author. He has also worked as a showman and sports commentator on television for three decades.

Mickey Mioso

Awesome! Minnie Mioso, you’re the Cuban Rocket. He was born in Cuba in November of 1925. He began his professional career in the Black leagues before switching to the Major League Baseball in 1949.

His nine MLB All-Star awards make him one of the pivotal personalities in White Sox history. His other accomplishments include:

  • NgL All-Star twice
  • 1947 Negro World Series Champion
  • Gold Glove Award winner three times
  • AL leader in stolen bases three times

Mioso is revered by Red Sox fans as their cherished number 9. The Chicago Baseball Museum presented him with the Jerome Holtzman Award in 2011.

After seeing the results, it’s time to take the quiz and answer the questions.
