A young lady lies in bed by herself. She has obvious rape-related bruises and wounds on her hips and upper inner legs. In 2010, the women and girls of a nameless, remote Mennonite colony learn that the men have been raping and subduing them while using livestock tranquilizer. In a neighboring city, the attackers are detained and taken to prison. The majority of the colony’s men leave to supervise the bail, leaving the women alone for two days to decide how to continue. To decide whether to remain and do nothing, remain and fight, or depart, they conduct a plebiscite.

Between remaining, fighting, and leaving, there is a tie. In order to reach a consensus, eleven of the colony’s women gather in a hayloft, but Scarface, a “do-nothing” woman, leaves the gathering after growing weary of the conversation, bringing her hesitant daughter Anna and recalcitrant granddaughter Helena with her. As none of the women had been taught to read or write, August, one of the colony’s two surviving males, joins the group to take notes. After being raped, Melvin, a transgender man, stays silent, speaking only to the small children. He is therefore left in control of keeping an eye on them and informing the women of any outside events. But you shouldn’t waste any more time and start this Women Talking quiz. Salome, who recently returned from a journey to get antibiotics for her young daughter who was assaulted, is adamant about sticking around and fighting, and Mejal concurs. Ona, who was raped and is now pregnant, also proposes that they remain and, after winning the battle, establish new regulations for the colony that would grant women equal rights. Mother of Autje and Greta, Mariche, differs, considering forgiveness to be the only workable solution. Ona recommends that August make two documents outlining the advantages and disadvantages of staying and leaving in order to diffuse the conflict.

The gathering is ended. During the intermission, it is revealed that August comes from a family that was excommunicated but was recently given permission to return so he could instruct the colony’s young men. He had romantic emotions for Ona ever since they were close friends as children. Also, you will find out which character are you in this Women Talking quiz. The ladies find out that Mariche’s abusive husband Klaas will return that evening to pick up more bail money when they are counted for the 2010 census. The gathering continues. Mejal and Ona decide to leave after having a change of heart. Salome continues to be adamant about fighting, adamantly admitting that she would rather murder the men than expose her daughter to more danger. But after being reminded of the fundamentals of their religion by Agata, Ona’s mother as well as her own, she changes her mind. Mariche is the only person who hasn’t changed her mind. She gets into a fight with the other women and it comes out that Greta was the one who convinced her to forgive her spouse for abusing her. Mariche accepts Greta’s apology and leaves.

About the quiz

August records their justifications for leaving: to protect their children, to maintain their commitment to their religion, and to exercise their right to free thought. They decide to attempt to bring along boys who are fifteen years old and younger, but they won’t compel any boys older than twelve. They get ready to depart at dawn while keeping Klaas in the dark about their plans. As a “artifact” of the women’s time in the colony, August, at Ona’s request, hangs the papers listing the benefits and drawbacks of leaving and remaining on the walls. In addition, he proposes to Ona and provides her a map that the women can use. Also, you must try to play this Women Talking quiz. Melvin informs Salome that her adolescent son Aaron has fled and hidden before they can depart. He is located, but he is unable to be persuaded to depart in time. Aaron is made to leave with them by Salome, who tranquilizes him in violation of their exit protocol. Only August hears her say this, and he accepts it without challenging her. In addition to telling her that he plans to kill himself after the women leave, he begs her to watch over Ona. Instead, she requests that he instruct the lads appropriately to stop any further violence and to give him work to do. Scarface and August observe as the women leave as Helena and Anna follow the others.
