Initially, the film was published as a roadshow for the theatre and was filmed only in 13 U.S. towns, as it was not suitable in conventional theater installations. It was promoted as an event, similar to a Broadway show, and included seats, programs, and hosts trained to lead you to your seat.

In “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” Walt Disney used Nigel De Brulier to be the wizard’s living model, but he was a major inspiration for the character. The eyebrow raised is the most apparent similarity. Walt apparently gave the folks he knew the same look.

Deems Taylor claimed that, once the Disney Studio shifted from small carton manufacturing to large-scale animation, it began composing in 1940 (but Disney sources later deny the account), Fantasy was a comeback automobile to the Mickey Mouse. Certainly, in 1930, Pluto, the Three Pigs in 1933, and finally Donald Duck in 1934 had been deployed by Disney in the Silly Symphony format to contest the Mickey top billing. Disney also started working on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1934, a substantial game that became known as “Disney’s folly.”

But in 1937 he got an Oscar from the Motion Picture Academy, which produced a profit of $8 million. The triumph of Snow White followed, and the ingenuous narrator was Jiminy Cricket. Then Disney started to think about a new role for Mickey at this time in 1938.

Disney’s answer was to turn Mickey into the primary figure for a particular cartoon rendering by the French composer, Paul Dukas, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.” Disney, who needed musical assistance and was interested not only in the notion of Dukas /Mickey but to extend the project to an animated feature of the performance, discussed the project with the director of the Philharmonic Orchestra, Leopold Stokowski. Then Disney began to think about ‘The Feature of Concert’ as a fantasy. Whether Disney’s or Stokowski’s idea to grow was also controversial.
